Happy New Year!  Now is the time to get things in order.  If you are planning to attend college you need to do your FAFSA.  To begin your FAFSA you and your parent need a pin.  Go to: www.fafsa.ed.gov.  Your FAFSA is the application for the HOPE scholarship.  If you want help in completing your FAFSA, Vol-State will do your application for you, free.  You do not have to attend Vol-State for this opportunity.  College Goal Sunday is February 14th at 2:00 pm. This is not the time to get senioritis.  You graduate based on the academic tier and schools are also asking for your term 2 schedule along with a mid-year report.  If you have not order your cap & gown, please do so as soon as possible.  Young men, you need to register with selective service if you are18 or going to be 18. Your applications or student loans will be denied.  Talk to your counselor if you have any questions.

Steps in applying for aid using the online FAFSA -Get a PIN @ www.pin.ed.gov -Apply for financial aid. FAFSA @ www.fafsa.ed.gov.

-Submit your application

-Follow up on your FAFSA.  You will receive an e-mail with a link to your SAR.

College Information:

UTC: If you have already been accepted to UTC they are having a Mocs Mentor Day.  UTC has chartered a bus.  This is an overnight trip.  The program is February 11th & 12th.  Pick up form in Guidance or you can call (423)425-4662.  The cost is $35.00.
