| The advanced placement
course offered in the junior year concentrates on language and
composition. The core
literature of this rigorous course is primarily American, but works from
other authors around the world are also introduced.
Reading and writing assignments are substantial and reflect the
workload and pace of this course. In
May, students will take the AP test through the College Entrance
Examination Board, by which students can earn college credit.
There is a summer reading assignment with an accompanying writing
assignment.
